Chesar 3.1 supports SWED and use maps

10 November 2016

Chesar 3.1 has been updated to support the generation of exposure assessment inputs for workers (SWED) in Chesar format, which enables sector associations to generate complete use maps to help REACH registrants with their chemical safety assessments.

In addition, registrants can now generate their exposure scenarios for communication in ESComXML format. This will save time by enabling automatic input of the information in the company IT system. The ESComXML is a standardised format, developed by the European Chemical Industry Council (Cefic), to exchange exposure scenario information between IT systems.

A new manual for sector organisations, focusing on the use maps, is now available on the Chesar website. The existing Chesar 3 user manual has been updated to reflect the changes.

Chesar 3.1 is fully compatible only with the version of IUCLID 6 published on 30 September 2016 on the IUCLID 6 website. Consequently all previous versions of IUCLID 6 are not anymore compatible.

The next update of Chesar is foreseen for May 2017.
