Use maps library updated with several files in Chesar format

06 February 2018

The use maps library available on the ECHA website (https://echa.europa.eu/csr-es-roadmap/use-maps/use-maps-library) has recently been updated with the addition of a number of files which can be directly imported into Chesar.

Chesar files are made available by the following sectors:

  • EuPC – the association of European Plastics Converters. The Chesar file contains the general use mapping together with some inputs for the workers assessment;
  • Concawe – covering the use as fuel. The Chesar file contains the inputs to the exposure assessment for consumers (SCEDs);
  • AISE – the International Association for Soaps, Detergents and Maintenance Products. The Chesar file contains the general use mapping, as well as the inputs to the exposure assessment for workers (SWEDs), consumers (SCEDs) and the environment (SPERCs).

Note: Together with the AISE use map, two cleaning files have been published. These cleaning packages are to be used by the assessors who have imported in their Chesar the previous version of AISE SPERC files. The two cleaning packages will obsolete non-relevant library items in the Chesar application. They need to be imported in Chesar box 6 (“SPERCs” tab and “Condition of use templates” tab respectively).

Registrants are invited to consider the information made available via the use maps when preparing or updating their dossiers.

Support for users on how to handle use maps Chesar files is available in Chesar user manual (chapter 4.5) as well as in the on-line Chesar help text (click the (?)).

More Use maps Chesar files are expected in the near future. We will keep you informed.
