Description of key information
The flash point of 2,4-dichlorophenol was measured in a modern guideline study, conducted according to ISO 3679:2004 (Determination of flash point - Rapid equilibrium closed cup method). This test was repeated twice and the mean value taken as the flash point. This is 110.6°C. The remaining supporting literature studies report values slighly higher than this at 113-114°C.

The first of these values is from a key study conducted according to ISO 3679:2004 (Determination of flash point - Rapid equilibrium closed cup method). This study reports the flash point to be 110.6 °C. This is the average of two flash points measured.
In support of the key study, seven flash point values are given from various literature sources. Six of these values are in close alignment (113 - 114 °C). The other two values (one from the IUCLID 4 Dataset and the second from the SIDS document) reported are believed to be from the same primary source and state a flash point value of 62 °C. This value is far removed from the others reported and is thus believed to be unreliable and in error.
It is therefore concluded that the flash point of 2,4-Dichlorophenol is 110.6 °C as reported by the key study.
