Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
DESCRIPTION OF FIRST AID MEASURES
- General information: Immediately remove any clothing soiled by the product.
- After inhalation: Supply fresh air and seek medical treatment in case of complaints.
- After skin contact: Immediately wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly. If skin irritation continues, consult a doctor.
- After eye contact: Rinse opened eye for several minutes under running water, then consult a doctor.
- After swallowing: If swallowed, rinse mouth with water (only if the person is conscious). If vomiting occurs, keep head lower than hips to help prevent aspiration. If symptoms persist consult doctor.
- Information for doctor: Treat symptomatically.
Fire-fighting measures
EXTINGUISHING MEDIA
- Suitable extinguishing agents: Special powder for metal fires or dry sand. Do not use water.
- For safety reasons unsuitable extinguishing agents: Water and carbon dioxide.
ADVICE FOR FIREFIGHTERS
- Protective equipment: Wear self-contained respiratory protective device and do not inhale explosion gases or combustion gases.
- Additional information: Dispose of fire debris and contaminated fire-fighting water in accordance with official regulations.
Accidental release measures
PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS, PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT AND EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
- Use respiratory protective device against the effects of fumes/dust/aerosol and keep away from ignition sources.
ENVIRONMENTAL PRECAUTIONS
- No special measures required
METHODS AND MATERIAL FOR CONTAINMENT AND CLEANING UP
- Pick up mechanically.
- Avoid formation of dust.
- Keep away from water.
- Dispose of the material collected according to regulations.
Handling and storage
PRECAUTIONS FOR SAFE HANDLING
- Handle with care. Avoid jolting, friction and impact, open and handle receptacle with care.
- Prevent formation of dust and provide suction extractors if dust is formed. Work only in fume cupboard.
INFORMATION ABOUT FIRE- AND EXPLOSION PROTECTION
- Requirements to be met by storerooms and receptacles: Store only in the original receptacle, store receptacle in a well ventilated area.
- Information about storage in one common storage facility: Store away from water and not together with acids or alkalis (caustic solutions). Store away from oxidising agents.
- Further information about storage conditions: Store under dry inert gas, keep container tightly sealed and protect from humidity and water.
