Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

INHALATION

Move the exposed person to fresh air at once. Get medical attention.

INGESTION

Wash out mouth with water, provided person is conscious. Get medical attention.

SKIN CONTACT

Remove contaminated clothing and wash skin with soap and plenty of running water. Get medical attention.

EYE CONTACT

Rinse immediately eye with plenty of low pressure water for at least 15 minutes.

Remove any contact lenses. Get medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

EXTINGUISHING MEDIA

Flashpoint       325 °C

To extinguish fire use water spray, dry powder, carbon dioxide, or foam.

SPECIAL FIRE FIGHTING PROCEDURES

Prevent run-off water from entering the sewer system.

UNUSUAL FIRE & EXPLOSION HAZARDS

Dust may form explosive mixture with air.

SPECIFIC HAZARDS

By fire toxic gases may be formed (Cox, NOx).

PROTECTIVE MEASURES IN FIRE

Self contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing.

Accidental release measures

PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS

See section on exposure controls/personal protection

ENVIRONMENTAL PRECAUTIONS

Take precautionary measures against discharges into the environment.

SPILL CLEAN UP METHODS

Collect spilled material without creating dust, then place into a suitable closed container for disposal as chemical waste.

Handling and storage

USAGE PRECAUTIONS

Concentrated dust may present an explosion hazard.

Avoid contact with eyes or skin.

Wash thoroughly after handling and before eating, drinking or smoking.

STORAGE PRECAUTIONS

To protect product quality, store in sealed container in a cool place and out of direct sunlight.

Protect against static charge and keep away from source of ignition. Prevent dust formation.

Oral              not relevant              0.80 mg/kg bw/day

Dermal              1.60 mg/kg bw/day       0.80 mg/kg bw/day

Inhalation               1.41 mg/m3/day       0.35 mg/m3/day

The ECETOC TRA Worker Tool 2010 (V2.0) model for this substance shows for indoor industrial activities taking more than 4 hours/day, with local exhaust ventilation present (and running), provided workers wear masks with at least 90% respiratory protection and gloves with at least 90% dermal protection, the following occupational exposures:

The same ECETOC TRAM tool predicts the following for two relevant spERCs (CEPE7 and CEPE18) at a level of 1 t/y (fraction of tonnage to region = 1):

Total daily intake man via the environment regional              3.52E-012 (mg/kgbw/d), with RCR = 1.98E-06

CEPE7 = Formulation of Powder  Coatings and Inks  - Solids

CEPE18 = Powder spraying
