Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

The result given represents the mean value of three independant runs. The standard deviation was 0.3°C for the lower limit of the melting point temperature range, and 0.6°C for the upper limit of the melting point temperature range.

As temperatures Tei and Tp differs from more than 0.5°C, they are both reported in the results.

Melting range:

Initial extrapolated temperature: Tei = +21.2°C

Peak temperature: Tp = +26.4°C

Conclusions:
The melting raneg for the test item 10-undecenoic acid was determined to be : 21.2-26.4 °C.
Executive summary:

The melting point was determined for the test item 10 -undecenoic acid according to a OECD Guideline 102 study, under GLP. The thermal analysis method was applied, using Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC). The initial extrapolated temperature is 21.2°C and the peak temperature is 26.4 °C thus the melting range of the substance is : 21.2 -26.4°C.

Description of key information

The melting range was determined to be 21.2-26.4 °C at normal atmospheric pressure.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
26.4 °C

Additional information

A OECD Guideline 102 study without deviations and under GLP is available. The thermal analysis method was applied, using Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC). The melting range was determined to be : 21.2-26.4°C. Key value for chemical safety assessment: 26.4°C (peak temperature).
