EEC-Directive 92/69 B.6 Maximization method (according to GLP principles): Monosodium L-glutamate has been tested in guinea-pig Dunkin-Hartly females (10 animals in the test group and 5 animals in the control group). Evidence of sensitisation of each challenge concentration resulted to a sensitization rate of 0%. Conclusion: Monosodium L-glutamate is not sensitising under the conditions of the test.
