Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Acute toxicity

The acute oral median lethal dose (LD50) of piperazine adipate in Rodent - rat was found to be 3782 mg/kg of body weight. Acute oral toxicity of piperazine adipate to Rodent-rat by oral route indicates that piperazine adipate does not exhibits acute toxicity by the oral route. Similarly, inhalation toxicity (LC50 value) of piperazine adipate vapours was examined for 8 hrs. and the value suggests that piperazine adipate is non toxic to mouse by the inhalation route. Also considering the use of piperazine adipate, the most likely route of exposure is oral with the dermal route of exposure being highly unlikely. Therefore, piperazine adipate is unlikely to cause acute dermal toxicity

Irritation / corrosion

Predicted results of the substance for skin and eye irritation show that the substance is not irritating to skin of rabbit and human and to the eyes of rabbit

Sensitisation

According to the quantitative structure activity relationship model prediction, piperazine adipate was predicted as not being sensitizing to rabbit skin.

DNEL derivation

Piperazine adipateis not acutely toxic by the oral, dermal and inhalation route, does not show irritation effect to skin and eye, is not genotoxic and is not a developmental or reproductive toxin.

In the absence of local effects following short-term or long-term exposure, no dose-response data are available and a quantitative dose descriptor is not derived. DNEL values for local exposure are therefore not calculated.

In the absence of acute systemic toxicity, no dose-response data are available and a quantitative dose descriptor is not derived. DNEL values for acute systemic effects are therefore not calculated.

A standard approach to deriving DNEL values would be to use the repeated dose toxicity dataset and apply assessment factors as described in ECHA guidance documents. The critical endpoint is considered to be the LOEL of 152.489 mg/kg bw/d in inhalation category.
