Conclusion on classification

Based on diethyl sulphide being considered not readily biodegradable and the most conservative effect concentration being 48 hour EC50 to Daphnia magna of 17 mg/L, diethyl sulphide is considered to be classified as chronic category 3 under the CLP with the hazard statement "H412: Harmful to aquatic life with long lasting effects" and R52/53 under the DSD with the risk phrase "harmful to aquatic organisms and may cause long term adverse effects in the aquatic environment".
