Additional information

Toxicity to microorganisms was determined to be LC50 > 1000 mg/l. The LC50 for Daphia as the most sensitive species was determined as 7.3 mg/l. Based on these values, the PNEC were derived using default assment factors.

PNECs for sediment in fresh and marine water were based on the available NOEC data from algae and daphnia, using a further factor 10 in addition to the default assessment factors, because no long-term studies are available.

Conclusion on classification

acute aquatic toxicity data show LC50/EC50 levels between 10 and 100 mg/l for all three trophic levels. There is also no indication of ready biodegradation in water. The available data justify a classification as chronic 2 (R51/53 respectively).
