First-aid measures

If inhaled: If breathed in, move person into fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. Consult a physician.

In case of skin contact: Wash off with soap and plenty of water. Consult a physician.

In case of eye contact: Rinse thoroughly with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and consult a physician.

If swallowed: Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Rinse mouth with water. Consult a physician.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: Use alcohol-resistant foam, dry chemical or water.

Special hazards arising from the chemical: Flammable liquid and vapor. May be ignited by heat, sparks and flame. Containers may explode in high temperature.

Special protective actions for fire-fighters: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus for firefighting if necessary. Use water spray to cool unopened containers.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures: Use personal protective equipment. Avoid breathing vapors, mist or gas. Ensure adequate ventilation. Remove all sources of ignition. Evacuate personnel to safe areas.

Environmental precautions: Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Do not let product enter drains.

Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up: Absorb spill with inert material (vermiculite, sand or earth) if a little material leaks. Collect with an electrically protected pump and place in container for disposal according to local regulations.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling: Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Avoid inhalation of vapour or mist. Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities: Store in cool place. Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Containers which are opened must be carefully resealed and kept upright to prevent leakage.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Appropriate engineering controls: Local exhaust ventilation or a process enclosure ventilation system may be required.

Personal protective equipment:

Eye/face protection: Safety glasses with side shields. Chemical goggles. Contact lenses may pose a special hazard; soft contact lenses may absorb and concentrate irritants.

Skin protection: Wear chemical protective gloves, e.g. PVC. Wear safety footwear or safety gumboots, e.g. Rubber. Impervious clothing.

Respiratory protection: Selection of the Class and Type of respirator will depend upon the level of breathing zone contaminant and the chemical nature of the contaminant.

Stability and reactivity

Chemical Stability: Stable under normal temperatures and pressures.

Conditions to Avoid: Incompatible materials, ignition sources, excess heat, strong oxidants.

Incompatibilities with Other Materials: Strong oxidizing agents.

Hazardous Decomposition Products: Carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide.

Hazardous Polymerization: has not been reported

Disposal considerations

Disposal methods: burial in a land-fill specifically licensed to accept chemical.

Reuse of broken container is forbidden.

Recycle to process, if possible. Consult your local or regional authorities. You may be able to dissolve or mix material with a combustible solvent and burn in a chemical incinerator equipped with an afterburner and scrubber system. Observe all federal, state and local regulations when disposing of this substance.
