Description of key information

The boiling point of the substance is 198.9 °C at 1013 hPa.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Boiling point at 101 325 Pa:
198.9 °C

Additional information

The boiling point of 1-methylimidazole as result from 3 experimental guideline studies from BASF resulted to be between 198,2 °C and 199,2 °C at 1013,3 hPa. The value which originates from study No. 188/1478, where the purest test material was used is 198,9 °C. Thus a boiling point of 198,9 °C at 1013,3 hPa is regarded to be reliable for 1-methylimidazole.
