Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The substance is liquid and thus, the determination of the flash point is decisive for classification and labelling. A measured flashpoint of 113 °C, when compared to the classification criteria in GHS/CLP

supports that the substance is not to be classified as a flammable liquid.

Flammability of solids and flammability of gases/aerosols is not applicable to this substance. Furthermore, the substance is known to be stable (non-pyrophoric) and also known not to react with water forming flammable gases, as the substance is manufactured by steam distillation.

In conclusion, the substance is not considered flammable in the meaning of GHS/CLP.

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the flashpoint (113 °C) and absence of pyrophoricity and reactivity towards water, the substance is not to be classified for any class of flammability according to CLP (Regulation EC 1272/2008).
