Description of key information

The substance was found to be hydrolytically stable in aqueous solutions at pH 4, 7 and 9 in a test according to OECD Test Guideline 111 under GLP.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The abiotic degradation (hydrolysis) of (hydroxyethyl)urea was investigated at a temperature of nominally 50°C (±1°C) at pH values of 4, 7 and 9. At each pH value, less than 10% hydrolysis had occurred in five days. Therefore, no further testing was required.
