Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The adsorption/desorption coefficients of this complex reaction product were calculated according to Gerstl (1990), Briggs (1981) and Nendza (1998) based on the experimental values of n-octanol/water partition coefficient.

A range of adsorption/desorption coefficient values was obtained: 3.53 to 4.09, 86.6% of the components have Log Koc ranged from 3.84 to 3.93.

As all sewage sludges from waster water treatment plant in industrial factory are burned, no exposure is expected on soil. The potential release is only by the aqueous phase. Therefore, the lower value of adsorption/desorption coefficient (3.84) in the range representing 86.6% of the components is used for risk assessment (Chemical Safety Assessment CSA) and the derivation of Predicted No-Effect Concentrations (PNEC) in sediments and soil.
