Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

No acute toxic effects within the range of solubility. The test item is with high probability acutely not harmful to aquatic algae.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The EC50 value of the test substance on green algae according to OECD 201 was found to be greater than 100 mg/L (nominal value, CIBA-GEIGY 1992). Due to the low solubility of the test substance an emulsifier was used. Nevertheless, no acute toxic effects occurred within the range of solubility.

The results are supported by a growth inhibition test using Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata from the existing chemicals survey conducted by the Japanese Government are available (Ministry of the Environment, Japan 2008). Although, only an abstract with limited information is available, the results support the overall conclusion. In a static test after 72 h no acute toxic effects could be observed up to the limit of solubility. Therefore, the test item is with high probability acutely not harmful to aquatic algae.
