Description of key information
Vinyl laurate does not show a effect on activated sludge when administered up to a concentration of 1000 mg/l (nominal).

Vinyl laurate was tested in an activated sludge respiration inhibition test under the conditions of OECD 209. The positive control (3,5 -Dichlorophenol) showed a EC50 of 22.9 mg/l and is in the range of 5 -30 mg/l. The tests on vinyl laurate in activated sludge showed no inhibition of respiration at the concentrrations used ( 50, 250, 500, 750 and 1000 mg/l). Therefore a EC50 could not be determined; it is > 1000 mg/l.
