Ecotoxicological information

Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates

Administrative data

Endpoint:
short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: see 'Remark'
Remarks:
This study was performed following GLP requirements, but as a screening test and without analytical monitoring. Therefore, the test do not totally comply with the specific testing guideline but is well documented and scientifically acceptable. For this reason, we considere it as Klimish 2.

Any other information on results incl. tables

The main study was performed using three concentration containing 1, 10, 100 mg/L (nominal).

Twenty daphnia were exposed to the test item for 48 hours in a static system.

After 24 and 48 hours, the immobilized daphnia were counted.

The concentrations showed no toxicity. No animals were immobilized in the control.

In the current positive control test : the value of 24h-EC50i of potassium dichromate was determined as 1.3 mg/L, lying within the required range of 06 -1.7 mg/L.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Conclusions:
The following results were determined for the test item :
24h-NOEC = 100 mg/L
48h-NOEC = 100 mg/L
24h-EC50i > 100 mg/L
48h-EC50i > 100 mg/L
