Conclusion on classification

Short-term toxicity tests for algae and daphnia are available for the substance and are both based on WAF studies, with actual concentrations determined. The EC50 value for Daphnia is > 7.8  mg/L (highest concentration possible, WAF loading 100 mg/L), whereas the ErC50 for algae was > 0.13 mg/L (highest concentration possible, WAF loading 100 mg/L). The EC50's are above solubility, the substance does therefore not need to be classified for acute aquatic toxicity.

The substance is poorly soluble. No acute toxicity is recorded at levels up to solubility. The substance is not rapidly degradable and has for the majority of constituents a log Kow > 4. No further scientific evidence is currently available to show classification is unnecessary. Therefore according to Table 4.1.0 of CLP, Category Chronic 4 is assigned (H413 May cause long lasting harmful effects to aquatic life).
