Additional information

Fluorphlogopite (synthetic mica) is a insoluble and non-reactive artificial mineral consisting of magnesium, potassium, aluminum, fluoride and silicate. The particle size ranges from 5 to 50 µm. Considering the physico-chemical properties of Fluorphlogopite, dermal and oral/GI absorption can be excluded. Based on the particle size, Fluorphlogopite particles could reach the alveolar region of the respiratory tract after inhalation. However, no adverse effects have been observed in a 4h acute inhalation toxicity study in rats at the limit concentration of 5.1 mg/L, indicating no toxic potential of Fluorphlogopite after inhalation. After inhalation, particles will be removed by the known clearance mechanism of the respiratory tract.
