Description of key information

Ettringit caused no significant mortality of the fish up to the highest tested concentration of 3.6 mg/l Al or 83 mg/l Ettringit after 96 hours. 

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In a 96-h short-term toxicity study, Danio rerio were exposed to Ettringit at concentrations of 5.3, 10.6, 21.3, 42.5, 85 mg/l under static conditions. The 96-h LC50was > 83 mg a.i./L. Sublethal effects were not observed at all test concentrations. 

This toxicity study is classified as acceptable and satisfies the guideline requirement for acute fish toxicity study.
