First-aid measures

General Information

Not expected to be a health hazard when used under normal conditions.

Inhalation

No treatment necessary under normal conditions of use. If symptoms persist, obtain medical advice.

Skin Contact

Remove contaminated clothing. Flush exposed area with water and follow by washing with soap if available. If persistent irritation occurs, obtain medical attention.

Eye Contact

Flush eye with copious quantities of water. If persistent irritation occurs, obtain medical attention.

Ingestion

Clean mouth with water and drink afterwards plenty of water.  In general no treatment is necessary unless large quantities are swallowed, however, get medical advice.

Self-protection of the first aider

When administering first aid, ensure that you are wearing the appropriate personal protective equipment according to the incident, injury and surroundings.

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed

Ingestion may result in nausea, vomiting and/or diarrhoea.

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed

Treat symptomatically. Contact poison treatment specialist immediately if large quantities have been ingested or inhaled.

Fire-fighting measures

Not applicable

Accidental release measures

Avoid contact with spilled or released material. Observe the relevant local and international regulations.

Personal Precautions, Protective Equipment and Emergency Procedures

Remove all sources of ignition.

For non emergency personnel: Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

For emergency responders: Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

Environmental Precautions

Use appropriate containment to avoid environmental contamination. Prevent from entering drains, ditches or rivers by using appropriate barriers.  Avoid subsoil penetration.

Methods and Material for Containment and Cleaning Up

Shovel into a suitable clearly marked container for disposal or reclamation in accordance with local regulations.

Handling and storage

General Precautions

Use local exhaust ventilation if there is risk of inhalation.  Carry out a risk assessment of local circumstances to help determine appropriate controls for safe handling, storage and disposal of this material.

Precautions for Safe Handling

Avoid prolonged or repeated contact with skin. Avoid inhaling vapour and/or mists. Eye protection according to CEN166:1996 may be warranted if environment is excessively dusty.

When handling product in containers (drums, sacks, pails, etc...), safety footwear should be worn and proper handling equipment should be used. Take precautionary measures against static discharges. Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking.

Keep containers tightly closed and in a cool, well-ventilated place. Use properly labelled and closable containers.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

Store in accordance with local regulations. Store in original container protected from direct sunlight in a dry, cool and well-ventilated area, away from incompatible materials and food and drink. Keep container tightly closed and sealed until ready for use. Containers that have been opened must be carefully resealed and kept upright to prevent leakage. Do not store in unlabelled containers. Use appropriate containment to avoid environmental contamination.

Additional Information

Keep in the original containers.

Stability and reactivity

Incompatibility: avoid contact with strong acids, bases, oxidising or reducing agents.

Hazardous decomposition: may evolve toxic fumes in a fire

Stability: stable

Disposal considerations

Waste disposal: Since regulations vary, consult applicable regulations or authorities before disposal.
