Description of key information

In accordance with column 2 of REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, Annex X, section 9.5.1, no study on sediment toxicity needs to be conducted if the test substance is biodegradable under enhanced conditions. Direct and indirect exposure of 2 -Propenoic acid, docosyl esters to soil is highly unlikely. The acrylate esters are biodegradable under enhanced conditions and therefore will not persist in soil. Furthermore, an indirect exposure to soil via sewage sludge transfer is unlikely. In addition, no direct releases to soil from point sources are known. Thus, toxicity to soil macro-organisms was considered scientifically not justified.
