First-aid measures

FIRST AID INHALATION: DO NOT DELAY.
Evacuate personnel of contaminated area and remove to fresh air.
Obtain medical attention or hospitalize immediately.
FIRST AID SKIN: DO NOT DELAY.
Remove contaminated clothing and wash affected skin witn soap and water for at least
15 minutes.
Obtain medical attention or hospitalize.
FIRST AID EYE: DO NOT DELAY.
Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes.
Obtain medical attention.
FIRST AID INGESTION: DO NOT DELAY.
Do not induce vomiting.
Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
Obtain medical attention or hospitalize immediately.

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed:
Causes severe burns. May cause sensitization by inhalation and skin contact.
Harmful in contact with skin, also harmful if swallowed. Risk of serious damage to eyes.
Irritating to eyes, respiratory system and skin.

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed:
In case of combustion gases inhalation : nitrogen oxides exposed persons should be kept under medical observation for
at least 48 hours because delayed effects may occur.
Call Poisons Information Centre : Emergency telephone of the country.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media
Dry chemical powder, carbon dioxide, foam or waterspray or fog.

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:
Combustion products may include:
Oxides of carbon and nitrogen. Amines vapour.
May form flammable/explosive vapour-air mixture. The vapour is heavier than air, spreads along the ground
and distant ignition is possible.
Overheating causes an increase of pressure with risk of break-up follow by explosion.

Advice for firefighters:
Unsuitable extinguishing media : Water in jet.
Protective equipment : Wear self contained breathing apparatus for fire fighting if necessary.
Keep adjacent containers cool by spraying with water.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
Avoid contact with : skin, eyes, clothing.
Extinguish any naked flames. Remove ignition sources. Avoid sparks. Do not smoke.
Take precautionary measures against static discharge.
Ventilate contaminated area thoroughly.
Do not breathe vapour.
Evacuate personnel to safe areas.
Warn of corrosion danger.
Wear protective clothing specified for normal operations
Float and can re-ignite to the surface of the water.
Vapour may form explosive and irritant atmosphere. Risk of explosion.
Inform emergency services if liquid spread water drain.

Environmental precautions:
Prevent from spreading or entering into drains, ditches or rivers.
Prevent contamination of soil and air.
Inform the local authorities if this cannot be prevented.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:
Prevent from spreading or entering into drains, ditches or rivers by using lime or sodium carbonate or other
appropriate barriers.
Shovel up and place in a labeled container for subsequent safe disposal.
Observe all relevant local and international regulations.
Wash contaminated area with plenty of water. Retain washings as contaminated waste.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling:
Avoid contact with skin, eyes, clothing. Extinguish any naked flames. Remove ignition sources. Avoid sparks.
Do not smoke. Earth all equipment. Do not breathe vapour.
Provide for appropriate exhaust ventilation at machinery.
Use in a closed system if this is not practicable.
Temperature: Ambient.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:
Keep away from heat and sparks.
Keep away from ignition sources. Do not smoke.
Keep containers tightly closed in a cool, dry and well-ventilated place.

Keep under inert gas and away from air and/or light.
Temperature: Ambient.
RECOMMENDED MATERIAL: Composite container with polyethylene.
UNSUITABLE MATERIALS : Unprotected steel.
