The toxicity of LAS to soil dwelling organisms was tested in three soil types. Various LAS salts (Na, Ca, and Mg) were tested in one soil type (sandy) to determine the effection of speciation to toxicity. In each test, 10 male and 10 female organisms were placed in containers with test substance added to the soil. Exposure lasted 21 days, at the end of which the number of adult and juvenile organisms were counted.
