Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Protection of First-Aiders:

Protect yourself and any casualty from further exposure during decontamination. Wear suitable prot

ective clothing, gloves and eye/face protection.

Other: Remove contaminated clothing.

Inhalation

Remove persons affected by vapour to fresh air. Keep patient at rest and give oxygen if breathing d

ifficult. Apply artificial respiration if necessary (do not employ mouth-to-mouth method). Appropriate

mechanical means should be used (Pneupac or bag and mask). Treat symptomatically.

Skin Contact

Wash affected skin with plenty of water. Seek medical treatment.

Eye Contact

Irrigate with eyewash solution or clean water, holding the eyelids apart, for at least 15 minutes. Seek

medical treatment.

Ingestion

If swallowed, rinse mouth with water (only if the person is conscious). Do not induce vomiting. Keep

patient at rest. Seek medical treatment.

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed

Causes serious eye damage.

Indication of immediate medical attention and special treatment needed

Seek medical treatment when anyone has symptoms apparently due to swallowing, inhalation or

contact with skin or eyes.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable Extinguishing Media

Extinguish preferably with foam, carbon dioxide or dry chemical.

Water spray should be used to cool containers.

Unsuitable Extinguishing Media

-

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

Combustion causes toxic fumes.

Advice for fire-fighters

A self contained breathing apparatus and suitable protective clothing should be worn in fire conditions.

Prevent substance entering sewers

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

Ensure suitable personal protection (including respiratory protection) during removal of spillages.

Environmental precautions

Avoid release to the environment. Contain effluent and prevent effluent from entering sewers and wat

erways.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up

Contain spillages with sand, earth or any suitable adsorbent material. Transfer to a container for

disposal.

Additional Information

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling

Use only in well-ventilated areas. Do not breathe mist/vapours/spray. Wear suitable protective

clothing.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

Keep container tightly closed, in a cool, well ventilated place.

Storage Temperature: Keep in a cool place.

Incompatible materials

Keep away from: Strong oxidising agents. strong bases.

Specific end use(s)

Industrial use only.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Exposure controls

Appropriate engineering controls

Provide adequate ventilation when using the material and follow the principles of good occupational

hygiene to control personal exposures.

Personal protection equipment

Eye/face protection

Goggles giving complete protection to eyes.

Skin protection (Hand protection/ Other)

2

Gloves: PVC. Glove performance is governed by many variables over which we have no control, we

strongly recommend that you seek specialist advice on the selection and use of protective gloves.

Note: Break-through times can vary depending on thickness, use and source. Change gloves re

gularly.

Wear suitable protective clothing. Chemical protection suit, boots and plastic or rubber gloves.

Respiratory protection

Where engineering controls are not fitted or inadequate wear suitable respiratory protective

equipment.

Environmental Exposure Controls

Avoid release to the environment.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity

No data.

Chemical stability

Stable under normal conditions.

Possibility of hazardous reactions

None known.

Conditions to avoid

Avoid contact with heat and ignition sources. Do not mix with strong oxidizing agents, reducing

agents or strong acids.

Incompatible materials

Keep away from: Strong oxidising agents. strong bases.

Hazardous Decomposition Product(s)

Toxic gases/vapours.

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods

Dispose of this material and its container to hazardous or special waste collection point. Disposal ma

y be carried out by diluting the waste with a suitable solvent and burning under controlled conditions

at a licensed waste material processor; stack gases will need to be scrubbed (See Section 5 above).

Additional Information

Disposal should be in accordance with local, state or national legislation.
