Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The study is technically not feasible. In Annex VIII, Column 2 of Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, it is laid down that a hydrolysis study does not need to be conducted if the substance is highly insoluble in water. The test substance has a low water solubility (water solubility < 0.01 mg/L). Therefore, experimental information on hydrolysis is not provided.

According to EPISuite v.411, HYDROWIN v2.00 the substance cannot be assessed as the model can only estimate a hydrolysis rate constant for esters, carbamates, epoxides, halomethanes, specific alkyl halides and phosphorus esters. The tool does not recognize the amide groups of the substance probably due to the fact that they are directly neighboring each other. As the substance clearly exhibits amide groups the respecitive information from HYDROWIN can be used to get a better idea of the hydrolytical behavior. Most amides hydrolyze to acids extremely slowly with half-lives measured in centuries (Maybey and Mill, 1978). Therefore, significant hydrolysis is not expected.
