The substance is characterized by high water solubility (4.99 g/L) and has a low potential for evaporation from water into the atmosphere (Henry´s Law Constant = 3.42E-05 Pa m^3/mole). Based on the estimated log Koc of < 2.0, a low potential for adsorbtion to sediment and soil can be expected. Therefore, it can be concluded that surface water will be the main compartment for environmental distribution.

The substance is not readily biodegradable (15% degradation after 28 d, OECD 301 F) but hydrolyses slowly under environmental conditions with half-life values at 25 °C ranging from 55.7 h at pH 9 to 313 days at pH 4 (OECD 111). The estimated log Kow is 1.82 (KOWWIN v1.68), indicating low lipophilicity and a low tendency to accumulate in fat tissue.
