Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Slags are not volatile.
Slags are solid UVCB which are almost insoluble in water. Since slags consist of an inorganic polymeric matrix and/or crystals, volatility is expected to be extremely low. As the melting point is > 1000 °C, there is no need to perform any study on the boiling point or on the vapour pressure, and consequently, there is no measured value for the Henry´s law constant.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Henry's law constant (H) (in Pa m³/mol):
0
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

Ferrous slags are essentially not volatile (0.000000001 (dimensionless) is the lowest Henry´s law constant which can be entered into the field for the key value).
