Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The vapour pressure of Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, copper diammonium complex, 55% aqueous solution at 20°C is 2.03 ± 0.05 kPa. This is the vapour pressure of the water. The solid substance has a very low vapour pressure. The estimated vapour pressure is used for risk assessment.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The commercial product Dissolvine E-Cu-9 (55% EDTA-Cu(NH4)2 aqueous solution) has no ammonia smell (ammonia odour threshold is 0.45 mg/m3).

The vapour pressure of Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, copper diammonium complex, 55% aqueous solution at 20°C is 2.03 ± 0.05 kPa, which is slightly lower than that of pure water (vapour pressure of water is 2.23 kPa at 20°C)

For the solid substance EDTA-Cu(NH4)2 the endpoint can be waived: as the substance is very low volatile and thus has a negligable vapour pressure.

Based on its multiple carboxylic acid salt functionality the pure substance will exhibit negligible vapor pressure. Because of its high polarity the substance always contains a few % of water so the vapour pressure exhibited by this substance is expected to be that of the adherent water.
