Administrative data

First-aid measures

Eye contact:  Irrigate with eyewash solution or clean water, holding the eyelids apart, for at least 10 minutes. Obtain medical attention.

Skin contact:  Remove contaminated clothing. Wash skin with soap and water. If symptoms develop, obtain medical attention.

Inhalation:  Remove patient from exposure. Obtain medical attention if ill effects occur.

Ingestion:  Do not induce vomiting. Wash out mouth with water and give 200-300 ml (half a pint) of water to drink. Obtain medical attention if ill effects occur.

Further Medical Treatment:  Symptomatic treatment and supportive therapy as indicated.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing Media:  Water fog, alcohol foam, carbon dioxide, dry chemical.

Unsuitable Extinguishing Media:  None known

Special fire-fighting protective equipment:  A self contained breathing apparatus and suitable protective clothing must be worn in fire conditions.

Fire and explosion hazards:  Combustible but not readily ignited. Can form flammable dust clouds in air.

Combustion products:  Thermal decomposition will evolve irritant vapours.

Explosion data

Sensitivity to mechanical impact: No data.

Sensitivity to static discharge: No data.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: Wear goggles and gloves.  Respiratory protection is not required if good ventilation is maintained

Environmental precautions:  Do not allow to enter drains, sewers or watercourses.

Methods for cleaning up:  Sweep up and shovel into waste drums or plastic bags. If liquid, adsorb onto sand, earth or a similar adsorbent

material. If solid, remove bulk by scraping. Do not adsorb onto sawdust or other combustible materials. Transfer to a container for disposal.

Wash the spillage area clean with water and detergent.

Other information:  Spillages or uncontrolled discharges into watercourses must be alerted to the appropriate regulatory body.

Handling and storage

Handling:  Normal precautions should be observed as for handling all chemicals. Control dust formation. Prevent eye contact.

Follow procedures specified in the National Fire Protection Association Codes and Standards for handling combustible dusts. Maintain good housekeeping to avoid dust buildup. Process hazards Smouldering can occur upon leakage onto fibrous insulation material.

Storage 50 - 90° F. 10 - 32°C
