First-aid measures

General advice:

Immediately remove contaminated clothing. If the patient is likely to become unconscious, place and transport in stable sideways position (recovery position). Remove affected person from danger area. First aid personnel should pay attention to their own safety.

If inhaled:

Keep patient calm, remove to fresh air, seek medical attention.

On skin contact:

Thaw out frostbites under cold liquid or water, do not rub affected parts of the body, apply sterile dressings, consult a skin specialist.

On contact with eyes:

Immediately wash affected eyes for at least 15 minutes under running water with eyelids held open, consult an eye specialist.

On ingestion:

Rinse mouth immediately and then drink plenty of water, seek medical attention.

Note to physician:

Treatment: Symptomatic treatment (decontamination, vital functions). If necessary, give oxygen.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media:

water, carbon dioxide

Special protective equipment:

Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus.

Further information:

Keep containers cool by spraying with water if exposed to fire. Shut off or stop source of fuel if possible. Dispose of fire debris and contaminated extinguishing water in accordance with official regulations.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions:

Sources of ignition should be kept well clear. Ensure adequate ventilation. Wind direction should be noted.

Environmental precautions:

Discharge into the environment must be avoided.

Methods for cleaning up or taking up:

For small amounts: Allow to evaporate.

Ensure adequate ventilation.

Handling and storage

Handling

Ensure thorough ventilation of stores and work areas.

Protection against fire and explosion:

Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking. Avoid influence of heat. Vapours may form explosive mixture with air.

Storage
