First-aid measures

First aid measurements:

- pay attention to self-protection

- Remove contaminated or soaked clothes

Inhalation:

- Ventilate room

- Monitor inhalation, apply artificial respiration if necessary

- Get medical attention if problems with inhalation persist

Skin contact:

- Wash extensively with soap and water, seek medical attention if necessary

Eye contact:

- Irrigate immediately with large amounts of water until irritation subsides (irrigate for at least 15 minutes, also rinse under eye lids)

- Remove contact lenses (if possible)

- Protect unexposed eye

- Seek medical attention

Ingestion:

- Aspiration hazard!

- If swallowed, do not induce vomiting, seek medical attention immediately

- If vomiting occurs spontaneously, ensure that substance does not enter lungs by aspiration

- Rinse mouth with water

Notes on medical emergence help or special treatment:

- While swallowing or vomiting, substance may enter lungs (aspiration hazard)

- Treat symptomatically

- No specific antidote known

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable fire-fighting equipment:

- water stream (spray), foam, CO2, extinguishing powder

Un-suitable fire-fighting equipment:

- water stream (full stream)

Specific dangers associated with substance (or mixtures thereof):

- In case of fire, cool endangered containers with water. Bursting can occur of closed containers with heating.

- Formation of ignitable or explosive steam-/air-mix is possible.

- Keep away from ignition sources (do not smoke).

Protective equipment at fire extinguishing activities:

- At formation of respirable dusts and/or fire gases, use self-contained breathing apparatus.

Instructions for fire-fighting activities:

- Firewater should not enter sewerage, ground water or surface water. Sufficient measures to collect firewater should be provided.

- Fire residues and contaminated fire water have to be disposed according to official regulations.

Accidental release measures

- Avoid contact with skin or eyes

- Do not inhale steam/ aerosols

- Ventilate sufficiently

It should be noted, that the daily service life of chemical protective gloves at work is significantly shorter due to several factors (like temperature) compared to the time officially stated (in EN 374)
