First-aid measures

If inhaled : Remove to fresh air. Obtain medical attention.

In case of skin contact : Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash off with warm water and soap. If symptoms persist, call a physician.

In case of eye contact : Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes. If symptoms persist, call a physician.

If swallowed : Do NOT induce vomiting. Rinse mouth with water. Obtain medical attention.

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed: The first aid procedure should be established in consultation with the doctor responsible for industrial medicine.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media :

Extinguishing media - large fires:

Alcohol-resistant foam (on small fires)

Carbon dioxide (CO2)

Dry chemical

Water spray

Unsuitable extinguishing media: Water spray jet

Advice for firefighters

Special protective equipment for fire-fighters: In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus. Complete suit protecting against chemicals. Full protective flameproof clothing

Further information: Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. This must not be discharged into drains. Prevent fire extinguishing water from contaminating surface water or the ground water system.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions : Wear suitable protective equipment. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

Environmental precautions : Do not allow material to contaminate ground water system. Do not allow uncontrolled discharge of product into the environment.

Methods for cleaning up : Dam up. Soak up with inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, acid binder, universal binder, sawdust). Pick up and transfer to properly labelled containers. Large spills should be collected.

Handling and storage

Advice on safe handling : Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Avoid inhalation of vapour or mist. Use with adequate ventilation. Wash thoroughly after handling.

Requirements for storage areas and containers: Keep in a dry, cool place. Stable under recommended storage conditions.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Respiratory protection : When workers are facing concentrations above the exposure limit they must use appropriate certified respirators.

Hand protection : Impervious gloves

Eye protection : Safety glasses with side-shields

Skin and body protection : impervious clothing

Environmental exposure controls

General advice : Do not allow material to contaminate ground water system. Do not allow uncontrolled discharge of product into the environment.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity: No dangerous reaction known under conditions of normal use.

Chemical stability: Stable under normal conditions.

Possibility of hazardous reactions: No dangerous reaction known under conditions of normal use.

Conditions to avoid : Extremes of temperature and direct sunlight.

Materials to avoid : Strong oxidizing agents

Hazardous decomposition products: Carbon oxides; nitrogen oxides (NOx)

Disposal considerations

Dispose of in accordance with local regulations as chemical waste.  Do not release to the environment.
