First-aid measures

Instantly remove any clothing soiled by the product.

Symptoms of poisoning may even occur after several hours; therefore medical observation for at least 48 hours after the accident.

- After inhalation Supply fresh air; consult doctor in case of symptoms.

- After skin contact Instantly wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly.

- After eye contact Rinse opened eye for several minutes (10 - 15) under running water. Then consult doctor.

- After swallowing Instantly call for doctor.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media

- Suitable extinguishing agents:

CO2, extinguishing powder or water jet. Fight larger fires with water jet or alcohol-resistant foam.

- For safety reasons unsuitable extinguishing agents: Do not use a heavy water stream.

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

Can be released in case of fire:

Nitrogen oxides (NOx)

Carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2)

Advice for firefighters

- Protective equipment:

Wear self-contained breathing apparatus.

Do not inhale explosion gases or combustion gases.

Wear full protective suit.

- Additional information

Dispose of fire debris and contaminated fire fighting water in accordance with official regulations.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures: Avoid causing dust.

Environmental precautions: Do not allow to enter drainage system, surface or ground water.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: Collect mechanically.

Dispose of contaminated material as waste according to MSDS

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling:  Prevent formation of dust.

Information about protection against explosions and fires: No special measures required.

Storage

- Requirements to be met by storerooms and containers: No special requirements.

- Information about storage in one common storage facility: Not required.

- Further information about storage conditions: Store in cool, dry conditions in well sealed containers.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Personal protective equipment

- General protective and hygienic measures

The usual precautionary measures should be adhered to general rules for handling chemicals.

Keep away from foodstuffs, beverages and food.

Wash hands during breaks and at the end of the work.

Do not inhale dust

- Breathing equipment: Use breathing protection only if dust is formed.

- Recommended filter device for short term use:

Filter P2

- Protection of hands:

The glove material has to be impermeable and resistant to the product/ the substance/ the preparation.

Due to missing tests no recommendation to the glove material can be given for the product/ the preparation/the chemical mixture.

Selection of the glove material on consideration of the penetration times, rates of diffusion and the degradation

- Material of gloves

The selection of the suitable gloves does not only depend on the material, but also on further marks of quality and varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.

- Penetration time of glove material

The exact break trough time has to be found out by the manufacturer of the protective gloves and has to be observed.

- Eye protection:

Safety glasses

- Body protection: Protective work clothing.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity: No further relevant information available.

Chemical stability

- Thermal decomposition / conditions to be avoided: No decomposition if used according to specifications.

- Stable until: 250°C, method: DSC

Possibility of hazardous reactions No dangerous reactions known

Conditions to avoid No further relevant information available.

Incompatible materials: Strong oxidizing materials

Hazardous decomposition products: No dangerous decomposition products known

Disposal considerations

After prior treatment product has to be disposed of in an incinerator for hazardous waste under adherence to the regulations pertaining to the disposal of particularly hazardous waste.

Uncleaned packagings:

Disposal must be made according to official regulations.

Packaging must be disposed of in compliance with country-specific regulations or must be passed to a packaging return system.

Empty contaminated packagings thoroughly. They can be recycled after thorough and proper cleaning.

Packagings that cannot be cleaned are to be disposed of in the same manner as the product.
