Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The vapour pressure of the 53% aqueous solution of DTPA-Fe(NH4)2 is expected to be comparable or slightly lower than water.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The commercial product Dissolvine D-Fe-6 (53% DTPA-Fe(NH4)2 aqueous solution) has no ammonia smell (ammonia odour threshold is 0.45 mg/m3).

Read across: The vapour pressure of Diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid, ferric diammonium complex, 53% aqueous solution will be comparable to the vapour pressure of Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, copper diammonium complex, 55% aqueous solution at 20°C, which is 2.03 ± 0.05 kPa.

This is slightly lower than the vapour pressure of pure water, which is 2.23 kPa at 20°C)

For the solid substance DTPA-Fe(NH4)2 the endpoint can be waived as the substance is very low volatile and thus has a negligible vapour pressure.

Based on its multiple carboxylic acid salt functionality the pure substance will exhibit negligible vapour pressure. Because of its high polarity the substance always contains a few % of water so the vapour pressure exhibited by this substance is expected to be that of the adherent water.
