Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
-Description of first aid measures.
Inhalation
In case of excessive inhalation, remove the person to fresh air and keep at rest in a comfortable position. Obtain medical advice immediately.
Skin contact
Remove contaminated clothing. Wash skin immediately with plenty of water, using soap if available. If any sign of tissue damage or persistent irritation is apparent, obtain medical advice immediately.
Eye contact
If wearing contact lenses, remove them. Immediately rinse the eyes with plenty of water for at least 10 minutes. If any sign of tissue damage or persistent irritation is apparent, obtain medical advice immediately.
Ingestion
Rinse mouth with water. Do not induce vomiting. Obtain medical advice immediately.
-Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed.
Most important potential symptoms may be respiratory distress, vomiting or diarrhoea, headache and sore throat.
-Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed.
In case of doubt, get medical attention. Never administer anything orally to an unconscious person.
Fire-fighting measures
-Extinguishing media.
Suitable extinguishing media - Extinguisher powder or CO2. In case of more serious fires, also alcohol-resistant foam and water spray can be used.
Extinguishing Media to avoid - Never use a direct water jet.
-Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture.
The substance is combustible and will burn if involved in a fire, evolving noxious fumes including carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and smoke.
-Advice for firefighters.
Keep containers cool with water spray.
Use self-contained breathing apparatus and wear protective clothes for fire-fighting.
Accidental release measures
-Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures.
Chemical resistant protective gloves should be worn when handling spillage.
No smoking. Avoid naked flames or other potential sources of ignition (e.g. electrical equipment).
Avoid skin contact and inhalation of vapour.
Ensure adequate ventilation in working areas following accidental release.
-Environmental precautions.
Do not discharge directly into drains, soils or the aquatic environment.
-Methods and material for containment and cleaning up.
Absorb the material on a porous, inert material such as earth, sand or vermiculite and dispose of in accordance with local regulations (applicable if liquid).
Large spillage should be contained by the use of sand or another inert material, transferred to a suitable container and recovered or disposed of in accordance with local regulations. Due to the danger of spontaneous combustion, any combustible material, such as cloth, used for cleaning spillage should be disposed of promptly, preferably by incineration (applicable if liquid).
Clean up with a vacuum cleaner and dispose of in accordance with local regulations. Wash the area with soap and water.
Handling and storage
-Precautions for safe handling.
Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Wear suitable chemical resistant protective gloves and eye/face protection. Do not ingest or apply to the skin as such. Maintain adequate ventilation in working areas.
Good personal washing routines should be followed.
No smoking. Avoid naked flames or other potential sources of ignition (e.g. electrical equipment).
Do not subject to unnecessarily high temperature during processing.
-Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities.
Store indoors at a constant temperature, in cool and dry place, well ventilated conditions, in full, sealed, opaque containers. Keep away from sources of ignition.

Exposure controls / personal protection
-Exposure controls
Do not subject to unnecessarily high temperature during processing. Maintain adequate ventilation in working areas.
-Respiratory protection
If the ventilation is adequate, no individual protection equipment is necessary. If the collective technical protection measures are not sufficient, an adequate protective respiratory equipment (e.g. filter mask) is necessary.
-Hand protection
PPE: Chemical resistant protective gloves.
Characteristics: CE marking, category II.
-Eye protection
PPE: Protective goggles.
Characteristics: CE marking, category II.
-Skin protection
Wear protective clothing appropriate to the activity, conditions of use and exposure.
Stability and reactivity
Reactivity - No expected reactivity under normal use.
Chemical stability - Stable under the recommended handling and storage conditions.
Possibility of hazardous reactions - No expected hazardous reactions under normal use.
Conditions to avoid - Avoid temperatures near or above the flash point. Do not heat closed containers.
Incompatible materials - Keep away from oxidising agents and from highly alkaline or acidic materials.
Hazardous decomposition products - No known hazardous decomposition products under recommended storage conditions.
Disposal considerations
-Waste treatment methods.
Do not dump into sewers or waterways. Waste and empty containers must be handled and eliminated according to current, local/national legislation.
