Description of key information
The determination of the oxidising properties of Betoxol II was performed according to EU method A.17. The study was carried out by ignition of mixtures of the test item with cellulose in mixture ratios from 10 -90% (m/m). The mixtures were moulded to form cones or clusters, ignited and the reaction was observed. The preliminary study with a cone consisting two parts of the test item and one part cellulose showed no independent reaction after removal of the ignition source (flame of a gas burner). In the definitive study only one of the mixtures (10% test item : 90% cellulose) showed a spread out of the reaction of 7cm of the cluster (dimensions 250x20x10mm). All other mixtures showed no independent reaction. The test item was classified as not oxidising.
