Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Move to fresh air. Seek immediate medical attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with running water for at least 15 minutes. Seek

medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and water.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek immediate medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Products of combustion may include oxides of carbon,

nitrogen and sulphur with some soot. Suitable extinguishing

agents are water, foam, dry chemical powder and carbon

dioxide. A self-contained breathing apparatus should be

worn. Dry powder will support combustion.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear protective clothing (see 2.3.1), avoid contact. If

uncontaminated, return material to original container. If

contaminated, spills should be taken up with absorbent

material (sand or earth) and placed into labelled

containers. Solid material may be collected using an

industrial vacuum cleaner. Wash spill area with detergent

and water. Waste water and spill should be disposed of in

accordance with local regulations.

Handling and storage

Handling: Avoid inhalation and skin and eye contact. Do not eat,

drink or smoke when handling the substance. Wear rubber or

plastic gloves and protective apron, safety goggles with

side shield. Handle in a dust- and splash-free system.  If

dust is generated wear a respirator. Emergency deluge

showers and eye-wash stations should be readily available.

Storage: Store in a cool dry place, away from excessive heat, in the

original containers. Reseal containers immediately after

use. Avoid unnecessary contact.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for reuse is not economically feasible

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: "Not applicable" (FRG c.a. summary) [the UK c.a. has

pointed to the classification and requested comment]

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: The substance may be disposed of at a licensed landfill

site

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method. The substance may be disposed of by

incineration above 950 deg C. Waste gas treatment to remove

oxides of sulphur and nitrogen should be used.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance is unlikely to inhibit aerobic or anaerobic

systems. However, degradation is expected to be low.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery from preparations is not economically feasible

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Empty ink cartridges and printed paper can be disposed of

as normal office waste

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Empty ink cartridges and printed paper can be disposed of
