First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove victim to fresh air. Seek immediate medical
attention. Treat symptomatically.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with plenty of water. If irritation
persists or develops seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with plenty of water. If irritation persists or
develops seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention. Treat symptomatically.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Recommended extinguishing agents: Water, foam and powder.
Product arising from burning: Products arising from pyrolysis: Carbon, sulphur and
nitrogen oxides with some hydrogen chloride and soot
(possibility of some hydrogen cyanide ?). In addition the
substance itself is toxic and relatively volatile.
Protective equipment: Protective equipment: A self-contained breathing apparatus
is essential. Protective clothing for skin should be worn.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing and equipment. Absorb
spilt material with sawdust or other similar material,
collect mechanically for disposal by incineration.
Handling and storage
Handling: Avoid contact with skin or eyes, inhalation or swallowing.
Wear a tight-fitting dust mask and safety goggles or a
suitable gas mask. A Van der Grinten hood with air supplied
from a breathing system is also suitable. A two-piece
rubber protective suit is suitable workwear. At the end of
an operation, the suit should be cleaned thoroughly under a
safety shower, before being removed. Where light
contamination is expected eg no or little dust formation, a
fabric or disposable suit may be worn. Care should be taken
to avoid contamination when removing the suit. Ensure
proper laundering or disposal of protective clothing.
Storage: Store in sealed, labelled drums away from foodstuffs,
cosmetics and medicines. The criteria laid down in TRGS 514
(Technical rules for hazardous substances) and in the IPS
(Industrial Association for Crop Protection Agents and
Pesticides) guideline "Protection against Fire in Crop
Protection Agent Stores" should be followed.

incineration. Waste gas treatment to remove nitrogen and
sulphur oxides and hydrogen chloride should be fitted.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended but the substance can be eliminated from
waste water using suitable waste absorption agents.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
