Administrative data
First-aid measures

Protective equipment: Protective equipment: Full protective equipment, including
a self-contained breathing apparatus, should be worn.
Accidental release measures
described at 2.3.1. Isolate the affected area and evacuate
non-protected personnel. Spillage should be contained by
sweeping and transferring to a suitably labelled sealable
container (eg durable polyethylene bag) for disposal by
incineration. Wash down the contaminated area with water
and detergent to remove all traces of the spill. Absorb
washings on suitable material and dispose of by
incineration.
Handling and storage
handlers should wear gloves and a half-face dust mask.
Large quantities of the substance should be handled within
a restricted access area supplied with mechanical
ventilation. During non-enclosed sampling and weighing
processes an air suit (manufactured according to national
standards), plastic or rubber gloves (BS 1651) and
knee-length rubber boots (BS 1870) should be worn.
Storage: Store in a cool dry place, away from oxidising agents.
Mechanical ventilation should be used. Containers should be
sealed (eg polyethylene bags in kegs).

Chemical reaction with water: Chemical reaction with water: None reported.
Disposal considerations
be recovered for reuse by the following procedure. 1)
Dissolve in hot methanol, filter (10 microns), and
evaporate to a low volume. 2) Precipitate the substance
with ethyl acetate. 3) Filter uing an open pan filter and
wash with ethyl acetate. 4) Dry in vacuum oven at 25-30
deg C, 2 kilo pressure.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Neutralisation in situ is not practical. Substance should
be collected and destoyed by incineration.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance shoud be incinerated at a temperature of
1000-1200 deg C. Waste gas treatment to remove nitrogen and
sulphur oxides and hydrogen chloride gas should be used.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
