Description of key information

A long term toxicity study for fish was carried out with the main breakdown product of TBSI, MBT. A Maximum Acceptable Toxicant Concentration (MATC) in an early-life stage test on rainbow trout was determined to be 0.041 - 0.078 mg/l within 89 days. The concentration of 0.078 mg/l was reported as LOEC and 0.041 mg/l as NOEC.

Additional information

A long term fish study was performed with MBT, one of the breakdown products of TBSI. Given the presumed high breakdown rate of TBSI, the results obtained with MBT are considered to be representative for long-term effects of TBSI.
