First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If unwell seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with plenty of water. Seek medical

attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and water.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Symptomatic treatment. If unwell, seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Recommended extinguishing agents: Water, foam, dry powder

and carbon dioxide may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products arising from pyrolysis: Combustion products may

contain carbon, nitrogen and sulfur oxides together with

some hydrogen chloride and soot.

Protective equipment: Protective equipment: Wear a self-contained breathing

apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear appropriate protective equipment (cf 2.3.1). Sweep up

spilt material and place in labelled waste containers.

Dispose of waste by incineration. Solutions should be

absorbed using suitable material for collecting and dispose

as above.

Handling and storage

Handling: Observe the usual precautions for handling organic

chemicals. Avoid contact with eyes, wear safety glasses. If

the substance is handled in powdered form avoid inhalation

of dust, wear a dust mask. Use handling equipment for

powders or local exhaust ventilation as appropriate.

Storage: Store in secured sealed containers. Avoid dust residues on

containers.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Other dangers: None reported. [UK c.a.: The substance is a

reactive dyestuff. Substances of this type have been known

to cause respiratory sensitisation. If sensitisation occurs

remove person from exposure and seek medical attention.

Chemical reaction with water: Chemical reaction with water: None reported.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for reuse is not possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None (French c.a. summary).

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance may be destroyed by incineration at an

approved facility equipped with waste gas treatment to

remove nitrogen and sulfur oxides and hydrogen chloride

gas.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Approximately 33% of substance will be discharged in

industrial waste water. Waste water may be purified by

membrane filtration or flocculation using cationic reagents

or calcium salts. Residual dyestuff will be absorbed on

sludge.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain except as

part of an article.
