First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Seek immediate medical
attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with water. If irritation develops seek medical
attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash with soap and water.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek immediate medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, foam, carbon dioxide or dry powder may be used.
(Confine the use of water to the cooling of unaffected
stock).

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon,
nitrogen and sulfur.

Under oxygen deficient conditions hydrogen sulfide may be
formed.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and a self-contained breathing
apparatus should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Avoid dust formation. Wear protective clothing (see 2.3.1)
including a chemical resistant PVC suit with integral hood,
an open circuit-type breathing apparatus (NPF 2000) and
knee-length safety boots. Sweep up spill using spill-control
material, sand or earth. Transfer to labelled containers and
dispose of by incineration in accordance with local
regulations.

Wash contaminated site with detergent solution. Do not allow
washings to enter watercourses.

Handling and storage

Handling: Ensure adequate ventilation or wear a high efficiency dust
respirator (NPF 1000).

A PVC apron, safety goggles, wrist length gloves (nitrile
rubber) and safety boots (chemical resistant, without lace
holes) should be worn.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place away from
foodstuffs.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not feasible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method at a suitable facility. Waste gas
treatment to remove oxides of nitrogen and sulfur should be
fitted. (A661)
