Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Symptomatic treatment.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with plenty of water. If irritation develops seek

medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash with plenty of water.

Seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, foam, carbon dioxide and dry powder may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides and nitrogen,

chlorine containing compounds and hydrogen chloride gas.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and a self-contained breathing

apparatus should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Collect spilt material (see 2.3.1) using an

explosion-protected industrial vacuum cleaner. Wash spill

site with water. Do not allow waste water to enter drains.

Dispose of by incineration at a suitable facility.

Handling and storage

Handling: Observe the usual precautions for handling organic

chemicals. Ensure adequate ventilation. Protective clothing,

gloves, safety goggles and suitable breathing protection

(eg a fine particle dust mask, P3) should be worn.

Storage: Store in tightly closed containers in a cool, dry place.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Finely dispersed particles may form explosive dust clouds.

At temperatures above 65 deg C, there is a potential risk of

hydrogen chloride gas evolution.

Chemical reaction with water: None reported.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method at a suitable facility equipped with a

waste gas treatment to remove nitrogen oxides and hydrogen

chloride gas. (A661)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
