Additional information

Under the test conditions the test material Bis(C12-C13)alkyl-2-hydroxybutandioate can be considered non-irritant for the skin of rabbits.

No skin irritation (Erythema = 0, Edema = 0) was found in any of the human volunteers and Bis(C12 -C13)alkyl-2 -hydroxybutandioate was judged to be non-irritant.

The test material was not an eye irritant in rabbits. In a CAM test (in vitro) also no reactions were detected in any egg treated with the test material.

Justification for classification or non-classification

No classification for skin and eye irritation is indicated according to the general classification and labeling requirements for dangerous substances and preparations (67/544 EEC) or the classification, labeling and packaging (CLP) regulation (EC 1272/2008).
