Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Move patient fresh air. Symptomatic treatment.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with plenty of water. If irritation occurs, seek

medical advice.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and water. If irritation develops, seek

medical attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, dry powder, foam and carbon dioxide may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and

nitrogen together with hydrogen chloride gas and some soot.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: A self-contained breathing apparatus should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing, see 2.3.1. For solids,

sweep up after wetting powders with water and place in

suitable containers for disposal.

For liquids, absorb using an adequate absorbent, collect and

place in suitable containers for disposal.

Dispose of waste by incineration at an approved facility.

Handling and storage

Handling: Observe the usual precautions for handling chemicals.

Protective clothing, gloves and goggles should be worn. When

the substance is handled as a powder, avoid inhalation of

dust and wear a dust mask.

Take precautionary measures against static discharges.

Storage: The substance should be stored in well sealed, secure

containers at room temperature away from food or foodstuffs.

Avoid dust residues on the outside of the containers.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Polyethylene drum in sealed cardboard package.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not reasonably practicable.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Destroy by incineration at high temperatures (>1200 deg C)

in a suitable facility with the equipment necessary to

remove oxides of nitrogen as well as halogenated compounds.

(A661)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Waste water can be purified by membrane filtration

or by floculation with cationic agents or by treatment

with ozone. The most effective method is the membrane fil-

tration: more than 99% of the remaining dyestuff can be

removed from the waste water.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable, the substance itself and preparations

containing it will not enter the public domain.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: The substance will only enter the public domain in the form

of dyed textiles which can be disposed of as normal domestic

waste.
