First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse for at least for 30 minutes. Seek medical attention.

NOTE TO MEDICAL PERSONNEL:

If a burn is present, treat as for any thermal burn, after

decontamination. Eye irrigation may be necessary for an

extended period of time to remove as much caustic as

possible. Duration of irrigation and treatment is at the

discretion of medical personnel.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes.  If

irritation develops, seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek immediate medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water may be used

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and

sulfur.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full personal protective equipment and a self-contained

breathing apparatus should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing (see 2.3.1)

Soak up spill with an appropriate absorbent eg: sand.

Transfer to suitably labelled containers and dispose of by

incineration according to local regulations. Avoid release

of substance into public water supply.

Handling and storage

Handling: The substance should be handled in a well ventilated area.

In misty atmospheres, use an approved mist respirator.

Gloves, goggles, boots and full personal protective

equipment should be used.

Storage: Store in tightly sealed containers in a cool, dry, dark

place. The substance may be corrosive to steel and stainless

steel. Do not store together with acids.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Dowfax(R) 2A0 Solution Surfactant will be imported in 200

litre epoxy-coated steel drums.

suitable facility. Waste gas scrubbing to remove oxides of
