Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Move exposed person to fresh air. Symptomatic treatment.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with plenty of water. If irritation occurs, seek

medical advice.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and water. If irritation develops, seek

medical attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, dry powder, foam and carbon dioxide may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon,

nitrogen and sulfur together with some metal oxide smoke and

soot.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: A self-contained breathing apparatus should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear protective clothing (see 2.3.1). For solids, dampen

with water, sweep up and place in containers for disposal by

incineration. For liquids, absorb with an inert material and

collect for disposal by incineration. Incinerate at an

authorised facility in accordance with local regulations.

Wash spill site with water, do not discharge to

watercourses.

Handling and storage

Handling: Observe the usual precautions for handling chemicals. If the

substance is handled as a powder, avoid inhalation of any

dust and wear dust mask. Take precautionary measures against

static discharges. Protective clothing, gloves and safety

goggles should be worn. Ensure adequate ventilation.

Storage: The substance should be stored in well sealed and secure

containers in a cool, dry place.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Polyethylene-drum in sealed cardboard package.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not reasonably practicable.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not permitted.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incinerate at high temperatures (>1200 deg C) in a suitable

facility. Waste gas treatment to remove oxides of sulfur and

nitrogen should be fitted.

(A661)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Waste water can be purified by membrane filtration,

flocculation with cationic agents or by treatment with

ozone. The most effective method is the membrane filtration

and this should be used (> 99% of the dyestuff in the

aqueous waste can be removed from the waste water). (A641)

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for reuse is not possible.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: The substance will enter the public domain in dyed articles

which can be disposed of as domestic waste.
