Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Diss Factsheets

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Eyes: Immediately flush with water for at least 15 minutes

Emergency measure - Skin: Remove the liquid from the skin with dry cloth and wash with

detergent

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: CO2 o4r foam extinguisher

Product arising from burning: CO2, NO2, H2O and Silica ash are produced by complete

burning. Various intermediate organic oxides such as

aldehydes, CO and NO can be released too.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Personal protective equipments should be put on to avoid

direct contact to skin and eye in use, disposal or

incineration.

Accidental release measures

Handling and storage

Handling: In the process of the substance to silicone rubbers it is

necessary to wear rubber gloves and eye glasses to avoid

direct contact to skin and eyes

Storage: For the substance itself, it should be stored in a closed

container at a place without any ignition source.

Silicone rubber materials processed with the substance will

have been in cartridge, which is to be stored simply at cool

place.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Paste silicone rubbers containing the substance will be

packed and transported in cartridge

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: The substance reacts gradually and steadily with water or

moisture releasing N-ethyl-N-hydroxy ethanamine [3710-84-7].

The reaction is not so risky (not explosive mor especially

exothermic)

Chemical reaction with water: H2O

Si-O-N(C2H5)2 -------> Si-OH +  HO-N(C2H5)2

Si-OH

Si-O-N(C2H5)2 -------> Si-O-Si + HO-N(C2H5)2

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery or recycling will be impossible because of the

ready reactivity of the substance
